Parking Ticket Detailed Information
Within 15 Days
- Set Fine Payment Option
- You may pay the Set Fine Option amount anytime within 15 days of the offence date on the parking ticket. Tickets that have been handwritten may be delayed in appearing on-line for payment. Tickets can also be paid over the telephone using a credit card. For more information about this payment option please contact the City of Peterborough Tax Office at 705-742-7777 extension 1865. Please refer to the back of your ticket for other payment options.
After 15 Days
- Notice of Impending Conviction (NIC)
- You still have the option to pay the "Set Fine Option" from the original parking ticket, however, a "Notice of Impending Conviction" (NIC) will be sent to the current owner's mailing address of the vehicle which received the parking ticket. The NIC will have a due date on it by which the "Set Fine Option" must be paid. Should you receive a NIC in the mail once you have paid the ticket, you should check with the Tax Office at 705-742-7777 extension 1865 to ensure that your payment was received. The NIC may have been mailed just prior to receiving your payment.
After NIC Due Date
- Payable at Provincial Offences Office
- Once the due date for the NIC has passed, the parking ticket is no longer available to be paid through the City of Peterborough's on-line parking ticket payment system. The ticket may be paid at the Provincial Offences Office (POA) at 99 Simcoe Street, Peterborough. They may be contacted by telephone at 705-742-7777 extension 2099 between the hours of 8:30 am to4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The POA office accepts payment by credit card over the telephone.
